Erin Deuel is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) who has called the High Country home since 2008. She earned her B.A. in Religious Studies (2012) and her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (2025) from Appalachian State University. During her clinical training at an outpatient community mental health center, she provided individual and group therapy for adults navigating a wide range of challenges. Erin works with adults 18+ and has a special focus on women’s mental health, including perinatal and postpartum experiences. She has completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method for couples and is currently pursuing certificates in Women’s Mental Health and Maternal Mental Health.
As a person-centered therapist, Erin believes that every person carries unique strengths, insight, and the capacity for growth. She values an authentic therapeutic relationship grounded in empathy, nonjudgment, and collaboration, and she tailors her approach to each individual. Depending on client needs, she integrates mindfulness, skill-building, spirituality, trauma-informed care, and other evidence-based interventions.
Outside of counseling, Erin enjoys spending time with her husband and kids, taking walks on the greenway, and putting on a good comfort show.
